HHL Research Report 2014: „HHL is an ideal research partner for social future core topics“

HHL Leipzig Graduate School of Management is presenting its research report 2014 (http://www.hhl.de/research-report-2014). In light of the dynamic development of research activities at HHL both in regard to personnel and organization, the report provides an overview of results from the time period under report (2012-2014), and new research projects planned for the future.

Research is tied closely into HHL’s Future Concept innovate125

The new research report is conceptually integrated in the HHL Future Concept. Dean Prof. Dr. Andreas Pinkwart says, „We aim at the education and further education of efficient and responsible entrepreneurial executives for the global economy with our Future Concept innovate125. Excellency in research, teaching and transference is an essential precondition for this. HHL is consistently working on the development of its faculty and the international visibility of its research activities.“

Exchange between branches, as well as inter- and trans-disciplinary networking

HHL responds to the still predominant trend of isolated research in different branches with a stronger exchange between branches as well as closer inter- and trans-disciplinary networking to meet urgent social challenges in the areas of health, energy, sustainability and demography more effectively. Therefore the school has decided for a topic-related group structure and at the same time founded the group-spanning Center for Advanced Studies in Management (CASiM) to be able to do comprehensive economic research.

HHL as a research partner

HHL Dean Prof. Dr. Pinkwart says, HHL is becoming more and more an „ideal research partner for central social future topics such as health, energy, mobility and resource efficiency as well as social and demographic change“. According to Prof. Dr. Pinkwart this success is down to focusing on topics like sustainability and competitiveness, economy and regulation, as well as the integration with central economic areas such as leadership and strategy, financing and accounting, innovation and entrepreneurship.

Increase in the critical mass of research

With the growth of the school HHL increases its critical mass of research, and at the same time intensifies its cooperation with excellent research partners in regional and international research associations. Prof. Dr. Pinkwart comments, „The opportunities of internationalization, diversity and interdisciplinarity resulting from that are used purposefully by the school. The current and planned recruitments for the areas of business psychology, health care and regulatory law support that, as well as the growing number of professors and junior scientists with an international background.“
